Brian Elsden Burrows

Brian Burrows is a professional architect since 1979, and a Gold Medal recipient for excellence from the Canadian Royal Institute of Architecture. He is also founder of The Architex Group, an independent professional architectural and design firm specializing in hospitality projects in Canada and China. Brian recently completed the international head office for Bell Canada, the first major LEED (green) office project and the largest private project to be completed in Canada in the past 20 years. The Architex Group was incorporated in Shanghai in 1997 – projects in China include The Swissôtel Dalian and Beijing, Ritan Hotel Beijing, and three 5-star hotels at Sun Mountain Yabuli. Brian also designed the first hi-rise (30 storey) hotel, within the TaiHu Lake National Park in WuXi, which opened in spring 2009. The architecture and design teams in China and Canada provide 24-hour support to all projects.
